Evaluation of Farmers' Adaptation Strategies towards Climate Change on Maize Production in Kishapu District, Shinyanga, Tanzania

This study aimed at assessment of farmers’ adaptation strategies towards climate change on maize production in Kishapu district Shinyanga, Tanzania. Specifically, the intention was to identify the indicators of climate change and variability in Kishapu district Shinyanga, Tanzania, examine the impacts of climate variability towards maize production in Kishapu district Shinyanga, Tanzania and identify farmer’s adaptation and coping strategies towards climate change and variability on maize production in Kishapu district Shinyanga, Tanzania. In this study the crosssectional research design was used because of its high degree of accuracy and precision in social science research. Data would be collected through observations, interviews and questionnaires. A questionnaire was set to a sample of 100 in Kishapu district Shinyanga, Tanzania. Data would be summarized, coded and analyzed by using SPSS and the data were presented in different ways including descriptive statistics such as charts, graphs, tables, maps, images and statements. The research design that would be used was a surveying design methodology that included a cross sectional design that focused on the objectives and the questions that were prepared.
