Psychosurgery, also known as neurosurgery for mental disorders (NMD), is a highly controversial and divisive topic in the field of mental health. The procedure involves surgically altering the brain to treat severe mental illnesses such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, and schizophrenia. While some experts believe psychosurgery is an effective treatment option for certain patients, others have expressed concerns about the ethical implications of the procedure.
